Gens

Gens focuses around progressing in different areas to aid you in your journey, making you do a variety of different things. This means you always have something to do to move forward! You can also focus on a passive playstyle, relying on your gens to make most of your money for you, without having to do anything! You can team up with friends and compete for the top spot or play by yourself and progress at your own pace!

How To Start

When you first log on, you'll be given an omnitool, companion storage, backpack, and 5 tier 1 generators. You'll want to create an island with the command /is create (name), or you can join an island! You'll have an area to setup your gens, which will drop items that you can sell to earn money over time. From there, you can choose between farming, mining, or fishing.

Generators

Generators are one of your main sources of income, and are optimal because they're the only form of passive income. They are upgradeable using money, and will get exponentially more expensive, but the drops will earn you much more over time. You can upgrade them by shift right-clicking the specific gen or with the command /generators to upgrade multiple at once. You can purchase more gens in /shop.

Farming

Farming is one of the 3 main progression systems. Make sure your omnitool is set to a hoe. This can be done by right-clicking your tool and selecting hoe at the top. You'll then want to head over to /warp farm to begin farming. You'll earn farm coins and crop drops while farming, which will go straight into your backpack for you to sell for money. As you prestige in the farm world, you'll be able to unlock new crops, accessible by typing /crops.

Mining

Mining is the 2nd main progression system, similar to farming, but earning you a new currency. You can switch your tool to your pickaxe by right-clicking on it and selecting pickaxe at the top. You can then head over to /warp mine and begin mining for mine coins, orbs, and money. As you prestige in the mine world you'll unlock access new ores, accessible by typing /mine.

Orbs

Orbs allow you to purchase companion eggs in the farm, mine, and fishing worlds. They can also be used for upgrading your backpack. They get stronger the higher you prestige, so make sure to check if you unlock new ones.

Note: Companions only work in the world in which you bought them in, meaning farm companions will NOT work in the mine or lake.

Fishing

Fishing is the 3rd main progression system, instead focused on earning you shards. You can switch your tool to your fishing rod by right-clicking on it and selecting fishing rod at the top. The fishing area is located at /warp lake. You should focus on finding fishing hotspots to speed up your progression, as these give powerful boosts instead of the regular lake. Reaching new prestige milestones unlocks better fish for you to catch, giving you more xp and money.

Shards

Shards are used for unlocking and upgrading new armor sets, as well as upgrading your minions, tool, and AFK area.

Fishing Hotspots

Fishing hotspots are small areas located in random parts around the lake, that give a variety of different boosts when fishing inside them. Each hotspot will spawn with 1-2 buffs.

There are currently 5 different buffs the fishing hotspots can have:

  • Treasure - Increased chance for bait/crabs
  • Wise - Increased chance for higher tier fish
  • Fortune - Increased chance for double fish
  • Experience - Increased experience
  • Enchant booster - Increased enchant proc rates

Tool Menu

The tool menu can be accessed by right-clicking your tool, or shift right-clicking if you have a fishing rod selected. You will be able to spend your farm coins, mine coins, and lake coins on enchanting, as well as access many other useful upgrades. By hovering over the tool at the bottom of the menu, you can upgrade it to unlock new attributes, which give you powerful multipliers that scale the more you upgrade them.

Enchants

Enchants are separate for each tool type, using the currency that you earn with that specific tool to upgrade them. You'll only start off with a few enchants unlocked for each tool, but you'll unlock more as you prestige in that specific world.

Enchant Prestiging

After completely maxing an enchant, you'll have the option to prestige it. This gives a boost to the enchant, increasing the max level of the enchant. Prestiging an enchant will not reset the level, and only increase the level cap.

Enchant Awakening

Once you have reached the max level of an enchant, you'll have the option to awaken it. Awakened enchants are significantly stronger than the original, but have an activation chance that can occur when you proc the original enchant, it is not a separate enchant.

Crystals

The crystal menu can be accessed by right-clicking your tool. Every enchant has its own specific crystal. Equipping it will give you an increased proc chance for only that enchant. The main way to get crystals throughout your journey is by obtaining crystal boxes. There are 5 different tiers of crystal boxes, each one giving you the chance to receive a different enchant. In your crystal menu you may also access upgrades, crystal tinkerer, or withdraw them.

Enchant Mastery

Enchant mastery is a feature that allows you to obtain extremely powerful boosts towards your progression. Mastery points are earned when you proc certain enchants a certain number of times. These points can then be spent on upgrades to make you much stronger. You can access these by clicking the sunflower in your tool menu.

There are currently 4 mastery upgrades which consist of:

  • Prestige Luck - Chance to gain an extra prestige level upon prestiging.
  • Enchant Prestige Level - Increase the max enchant prestige you can obtain.
  • Enchant Prestige Luck - Chance to skip an enchant prestige upon prestiging an enchant.
  • Max Awakening Level - Increase the max enchant awakening level you can obtain.

Abilities

There are 3 different abilities for each tool type. These abilities can be obtained through lootboxes or buying them from other players.

Hoe and Pickaxe Abilities:

  • Lucky block - Gives the user a chance to find lucky blocks while farming/mining
  • Booster - Provides the user with a variety of temporary boosts
  • Fireball - Allows the user to launch a fireball, breaking a ton of crops/ores

Fishing Rod Abilities:

  • Lucky Charm - Gives the user a chance to fish up OP rewards
  • Tsunami - Allows the user to create a tsunami, giving you money, coins, and treasure
  • Angel - Allows the user to spawn an angel, giving the user a greater chance for higher tier fish

Perks

Perks are permanent boosters that are attached to your tool. You are able to roll for perks by obtaining perk tickets, which you will get through a variety of ways throughout your time on gens. Perks give many different boosts, with the rarest ones giving the strongest buffs. Careful though, as once you roll a perk there is no way to get an old perk back!

Note: Perks are tool specific, meaning a hoe perk will NOT transfer to your pickaxe.

Perk Pity

Perks also have a pity system, meaning after a certain number of rolls you're guaranteed a purple+ perk. Pity starts off at 500 rolls, and will drop by 50 rolls everytime you reach it until the 250 mark.

Ex. 500 -> 450 -> 400 -> 350 -> 300 -> 250

Minions

Minions are helpers that are stationed in the farming, mining, and fishing worlds. They will automatically spawn in whatever world you're currently grinding in. Minions can be purchased from the credit shop for 2,500 credits and are upgradeable using shards.

Each minion has 4 upgrades:

  • Efficiency - Increases the speed at which your minion farms/mines/fishes.
  • Luck - Gives the minion a chance to earn 2x island value.
  • Experience - Gives the minion a level xp multiplier while they farm/mine/fish.
  • Rage - Gives the minion a chance to enrage, becoming 3x more efficient for 15 seconds.

Islands

Islands allow you to team up with your friends to compete against others, similar to cells on prison or headquarters on factory. Island top is similar to our other realms, but use a trophy system combining the 4 main activities. Your island is given trophies based on your current ranking in each leaderboard. In 1st place, you get 100 trophies, and lose 1 trophy for each position lower.

Note: Number of gen drops scale with the tier of the generator.

Trophy earnings are tracked by 4 leaderboards:

  • Farming - Crops Farmed
  • Mining - Blocks Mined
  • Fishing - Fish Caught
  • Gens - Number of Gen Drops

Companions

These little guys are your main source of increasing how quickly you level up. They give you a level multiplier that gets increasingly stronger the higher prestige you are. You can access these via the egg in your hotbar. You will also find companion fusion and upgrades in the companion gui.

There are 4 companion upgrades:

  • Luck - Increased chance to pull higher rarity companions.
  • Shiny - Gives the user a chance to pull a shiny companion.
  • Rainbow - Gives the user a chance to pull a rainbow companion.
  • Void - Gives the user a chance to pull a void companion.

Pets

Pets are a core gameplay mechanic in progressing to the top! Pets are obtainable by opening pet boxes. They have different rarities to them as well as a leveling system the more you use it. The higher level of the pet, the stronger the multiplier is. As you obtain higher rarities for each pet, its max level will go up which in turn gives you a higher multiplier. You can increase the rarity by fusing 2 of the same rarity pet.

Pets level can be increased instantly by using a book of experience and the rarity can be increased by using a book of rarity.

Note: Pets are bound to your account, and can only be given to others if they have a pet scroll to make it their own!

There are currently 6 pets that are obtainable:

  • Coin
  • Money
  • Orb
  • Pass
  • Enchant (Releases during the map)
  • Universal

Pet Upgrades

These are upgrades in the pet menu that increase the strength of your pets. These are upgraded using farm coins. These can be viewed by clicking the diamond in your pet menu.

There are currently 3 pet upgrades:

  • Level Cap - Increases the max level that your pet is able to achieve.
  • Experience Finder - Ability to find more pet experience while farming, mining, and fishing.
  • Pet Box Luck - Ability to obtain higher rarity pets in your pet boxes, allowing you to obtain a maxed pet quicker.

Pet Traits

Pet traits are similar to the perks feature on your tool, but for your pets instead! Select the pet you want to roll the trait for and get a buff to only that specific pet. If you want traits for all your pets you must roll individually for each one! These can be viewed by clicking the emerald in your pet menu.

Pet Stats

Pet stats are similar to the trait system, except you get 3 buffs for a pet of your choice. Instead of rolling a random trait, you roll for a grade, which determines the strength of your boost in 3 categories. You use stat dice to roll for pet stats. The two types of dice are normal stat dice and special stat dice. Normal stat dice rolls all 3 stats on that pet, whereas special stat dice only rolls one stat of your choice, allowing you to keep good stats you want to save. Pet stats can be accessed by clicking the bell in your pet menu.

Pet Stat Buffs:

  • Experience - Increases how fast your pet gains exp while farming, fishing and mining.
  • Level - Increases the max level your pet can achieve.
  • Buff - Increases the multiplier that your pet gives you.

Harvest Tech

While farming you will have a chance to earn different types of seeds. These seeds can then be used to craft harvest tech items located next to the companion egg at the farm. These harvest tech items give you a chance to earn OP rewards to greatly help your progression.

Crate Keys

Keys are a way for you to obtain OP items to help you progress faster on your journey. You can access them using the command /keys, and are obtained mainly through enchants. There are 3 different types of keys, each one having 5 tiers that get unlocked as you prestige higher and higher. You only get keys for the activity you're currently doing, meaning farming will only give you farm keys.

Additional Features

Totems

Totems are powerful relics that give you an additional multiplier to a booster of your choosing. There are 4 different tiers of totems, each one giving a higher multiplier. Totems are obtained by opening keys, increasing in strength by opening better keys. You can merge 3 totems together to increase their tier. At tier 4 when you merge them, you'll receive a star on them which will further increase the multiplier.

Totems also have a variety of skins that can be equipped to give an additional boost!

Enchanted Pass

The Enchanted Pass is a reward system that gives you exclusive rewards as you level up. You gain pass experience by farming, mining, fishing and completing challenges in /pass. You can gain access to even more rewards by upgrading to the gold or diamond pass!

Armor

Each armor set in gens gives you a different multiplier, with each piece having enchants to make it much stronger. You also have 5 skins to choose from, each giving a different ability to your armor set. There are 3 common armor sets that can be purchased using shards, while the rest can only be obtained by winning them.

Common Armor Sets:

  • Money - 0.25x Money Multiplier
  • Coin - 0.25x Souls Multiplier
  • Orb - 0.25x Essence Multiplier

Milestones

Milestones give you a variety of reward for reaching certain stages of your journey. You'll be notified in chat when you have reached a milestone and have a reward to claim. Don't forget to check them often as there are OP rewards you could be missing out on!

There are currently 4 milestone categories:

  • Prestige
  • Farming
  • Mining
  • Fishing

Gifts

Gifts are a set of playtime rewards that you're able to receive daily! These gifts are a good way to boost your progression over time. Gifts also have a small chance to be a golden gift, which has the chance to give extremely rare items, so don't forget to claim them everyday.

Lucky Blocks

Players have a small chance to receive a lucky block while farming, mining, and fishing. These have different rarities and have a requirement before you can get the rewards. These have the chance to contain exclusive items so keep an eye out for them!

AFK Area

If you plan on logging off for a little you can head over to /warp afk and sit in the pool to earn currency for whatever specific world you're in. You can also upgrade the afk area using /afkareaupgrade. You must hold your tool while sitting in the AFK area.
